Lodge Park – Nettleham

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Lodge Park - NettlehamAnother CGI stroke graphic design job for a client. This time we had an aerial shot in which to composite our CGI buildings – we do love this sort of thing! We only had building footprints from which to work our magic, so we made some buildings up after a brief from the client, used materials to complement the surrounding existing buildings and produced a brochure we’re very happy with.

Ashfield Healthcare magazine cover illustration

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

It was a choice of big foam models of numbers, or call the CGI people from albino igil in…

…they chose us…yay!

Ashfield Healthcare have a magazine designed and produced by one of our clients, the cover designer wanted a lot of big numbers on their stairs, so we were commissioned to whizz over to Ashfield’s headquarters, photograph their stairs, pootle back to our studio, slap (in a very complex CGI kind of way) some numbers in to the computers, press the magic button and pop out a composite CGI/photograph image.

If only it was that easy we’d all be doing it…

Just a little something to tide you over…

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Here’s a quick shot we produced as an idea for a client, CGI mixed with photography. Despite the quietness of the blog, things are afoot in the albino camp, but we just can’t show you anything yet, our paws are tied!

Planning application support visuals

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

One of the best uses for architectural visualisation is to create images needed to support planning applications. This set of images was recently produced for a proposed development in the UK, which also involved modelling and placing a 3rd party’s proposed development in order to better see the final street scene. Our rendering software allows us to match the exact camera make, model and lens type and setting used to take the original photograph to ensure even subtleties such as lens distortion are matched in the final render.

Draka parachute illustration

Another image for end-client Draka via Moggs Marketing Communications. Moggs’ briefs are always something fun to work on – you really do never know what they’ll throw at you from one project to the next! This time around needed a photoshoot background scrubbing and replacing with CGI cables on a clean white background, final use for A3 print.

Derby’s new design studios at Friar Gate

Monday, May 7th, 2007

This series of images is actually part of a virtual tour of the new design studios just off Friar Gate in Derby. The images were commissioned by our client, on behalf of the local council, and will eventually be incorporated into a website to allow prospective clients to have a good look at the space they are moving in to.

albino’s brief was to ”give a sense of the space offered” – and we must say it was an intriguing project to work on. For a start, the building’s metal structure is allowed to show in the internal rooms, which meant we had to work from nut and bolt up – first building the metal infrastructure, then adding internal and external walls. Secondly, the design of the building needed to fit in with styles of the three adjoining streets, and their unsual angles to one another, which meant an interesting model on which to work.

All in all an extremely enjoyable and challenging project!

This first image is a view from Agard Street, the CGI image montaged onto the existing site. The external images portray the various styles the building contains and the internal images are taken from the full 360 degree images we produced for our client. This is where the iron infrastructure becomes apparent.

Portakabin

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

“We have this shot of a stage and band, and we really would like a picture of the Portakabin on stage, under all the lights, without the band – but the small problem is that we’ve only got a prototype…and the shots aren’t that good of it really. In fact, they don’t match the stage angle at all…do you think you can help?”

“Yes please!!”

Cue CGI portakabin, lit to match the stage, stage photograph manipulated to fit the brief and the whole caboodle produced at print resolution.

Shrubbery

Monday, February 13th, 2006

“Can you make hedges?”

“Err, of course. What kind of hedges?”

“One in the shape of ‘£100′”

“Sure. Anything else?”

“Yep. A bloke cutting it.”

“Okay. I”ll have something for you tomorrow.”

“Great.”

next day

“Here you go.”

“Lovely (or words to that effect). You should do this for a living.”

“Thanks…!…”
